Google Blog Search beta now online

Google Blog SearchIt may soon be time to kiss Technorati goodbye (thank God). Google finally has its own search engine for blogs, and the beta version is up and running at http://blogsearch.google.com. Unfortunately, the results don't seem to be anywhere near as current as Technorati's. In fact, the most recent NTB post I could find on the engine is already a week old. Based on the company's past performance, however, one has to assume that Google will work out these problems eventually.

One note for bloggers: Google Blog Search only indexes the content contained in a blog's RSS feed, not the website itself. So if your feed doesn't include the full-text of your posts, only a small portion of your content will be indexed. Just one more reason why everyone should be publishing full-text RSS feeds.
